OUR STORY
Born on the Silk Road.
SERICA is the ancient Greek name for China. It means "the land of silk." Two thousand years ago, it was the word that set caravans in motion — merchants from Rome, pilgrims from India, astronomers from Persia, all traveling toward a place they had never seen, carrying gold and glass and ideas in both directions.
The Silk Road was never just a trade route. It was the world's first conversation. A thousand-year exchange of symbols, stones, metals, and stories — East meeting West, West meeting East, neither unchanged by the encounter.
SERICA was born from that conversation.
We create gold vermeil fine jewelry inspired by the cities, symbols, and materials that traveled the Silk Road. Every piece carries a story — a Roman coin that once paid for silk, a Byzantine mosaic that caught the light in Constantinople, a Venetian window that framed the sea at dawn. These are not just ornaments. They are compass points on a map that never stopped being drawn.
We believe modern life is a journey without a fixed destination. The women who wear SERICA are not waiting for someone to buy them jewelry. They are building their own collections — piece by piece, story by story, wherever the road takes them.
Jewelry born on the Silk Road. Worn everywhere. Wear your journey.
Silver That Returns.
Every gram of sterling silver in a SERICA piece is chosen with intention. We use 925 silver as our foundation — never brass, never alloy shortcuts — then layer it with 18K gold at 2.5 microns, five times the industry minimum.
Why does this matter? Because jewelry should not be disposable. A piece worn every day should still be worn years later. That is our definition of sustainability: not a marketing word, but a material promise.
We are building a closed-loop system. Our "Silver Forever" program invites you to send back your well-worn SERICA pieces. The silver is refined and recast. The gold is recovered. Nothing is wasted, and your old piece becomes a new story — for someone else, or for you.
